Co-curicular
For the all round development of the students, the school, in addition to academics, lays added emphasis on the provision of extra co-curricular opportunities to the students. Such activities encourage development of creativity and promote qualities of leadership resulting in their balanced growth. The students are allowed to participate in dramatics, music, dance, elocutions, debate, quiz and essay competition. A bird’s eye of various activities is given below: -

| The school has the privilege of participation at National level cultural competitions. Contingents of school presented thrilling cultural item viz ‘Ekta Ki Rangoli’ in 2007, on Republic day Parade at Rajpath. The most laudable achievement of the school has been the winning of Ist position at National level for presenting an item titled ‘’ Tiranga Sakshi Hai’’ a cultural Event held at Rajpath on Republic Day Parade 2008 for which the school was honoured by Hon’ble Defence Minister of India, Sh. A.K. Antony with a glittering trophy and a merit certificate. It also needs mention that this school was the only public school from Delhi State which got the honour of participating in Republic Day Parade, 2008 |

| The school holds special assemblies on important days such as world Environment day, Children's Day, Teacher's Day, Mother's Day and World Population Day to underline their significance. World Environment Day is celebrated to emphasize the need for clean and pollution free environment and World Population Day is celebrated to depict how the impeccable progress of India is being nullified by the continuously increasing population in the country.

In order to create a scientific temper and spirit of inquing, the school has set up a number of clubs viz interact club, Eco. Club, Maths Clubs, Space club etc. The Interact Club educates the students about the recent happening in the field of politics, economics, geography and history. This club invites experts as resource persons and apprises the students with the latest developments in various fields. Similarly, Eco-Club of the school creates awareness about the deteriorating environmental conditions and helps in creating betterment in the environment by participating in Vanmahotsava and concentrating on water harvesting. |

ANNUAL FUNCTION AND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION |

The school very well realizes the importance of country's rich culture and ancient heritage. With a view to create interest of students in the Indian culture. 5th September, is being celebrated as Teacher's Day in the school. Some senior students are given the role of teachers in order to make them realize the importance of hard work done by the teachers. On this occasion, the teachers are honoured and entertained by the students.

The annual function and prize distribution function are among the regular feature of the school. The school organized its annual function on 24–1–2009. Sh. G. S. Patnaik, Principal Secretary Home, Govt. of NCT of Delhi was the Chief Guest. Padam Shree Mahabali Satpal, Additional Director of Education (Sports) and President School Games Federation of India was the special guest. Sh. Prem Singh, Deputy Director of Federation S-W (B) Presided over the function. The students gave a spectacular performance of the ballet – ‘Rang De Basanti’ a solmn tribute to Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh, which received a thunderous appalause form the audience. Meritrious Student of 2007 – 2008 were given away prizes and merit certificates. School magazine LAKSHAY (2008 – 2009) was also released on this occasion. |

The school undertook a project of creating traffic awareness among students. The school brought out a book entitled 'Traffic Bal Geet' composed by Pandit Krishna Gopal. The book was released by Sh. Qamar Ahmed, Joint Commissioner of Police Delhi. Experts from Traffic police were invited as resource persons at the seminar to spread awareness about traffic rules among the students, parents, bus drivers etc. in order to reduce the number of accidents in the State Capital.

Generally we find most of the English Language Teachers lacking in the skills of English Teaching. With a view to bring about an imporovement in the standard of English Language Teaching, the school organized a workshop on 8th March, 2008. The resource person Mr. Sridhar Balan, consultant of Ratna sagar, urged the teachers to develop and strengthen reading habit among students by devoting extra time. This would go a long way to create love and affection in the reading of books.

The seminar was held on 31-07-08. Everybody in the present age is suffering from some sort of stress or the other. A team of psychologists was called from ZEAL who apprised the gathering about the causes of stress, their effect on human beings and provided certain tips to overcome the stress so that people may work free from stress.

The Principal of the school organized a seminar on vocational guidance in the school on 03-10-2007. Dr. Padma Nath Vasudeva was the resource person who, in detail, explained to the students of +2 class about various opportunities available for them in different vocations. It was really a very good opportunity for students to get varied information.

Participation in Science activities like- Student’s Science Seminar, Children’s Science Congress, Science Quiz, Debate, Drama, Slogan writing etc. help in inculcating logical/rational thinking among the budding scientists. The students displayed their exhibits at Zonal and Central level science exhibition – 2008 at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Naraina, Delhi.
The exhibit ‘Science Experiments’ was adjudged as the best model at the State level Science Exhibition – 2008, held at Science Center No. 2, Vasant vihar, New Delhi.
